Ok boys and girls. Today I am going to give you a very basic analogical lesson on some basic web site related terms and definitions.
This article is probably most applicable to those who currently own a web site based business, but are not very tech savvy.
The purpose of this article is to give you a better fundamental understanding of your web site, what it’s doing, and how you can be more effective with it.
This is Lesson #1 of a series of articles I will be writing.
The first thing I am going to cover is Web Site Hosting and Domain Name Hosting.
From my years in the industry, these are two of the most Read the rest of this entry »

A recently designed custom jewelry web site.
At w3developing, we offer complete web site design and overhaul services.
It’s not a falsity that your web site is the face of your business. People see your site and nearly immediately (on avg 6 seconds) make a decision if your company is right for their needs!
Because of this short decision time, you need to capture the very essence of your company and service/products on any page. In order to achieve this effect, your site must be at the top of it’s game in terms of: design, function, structure and flow – this does not even mention your competitors.
Your site requires constant upgrades, updates and maintenance. Your site is like a fine tuned watch – it needs to be “greased” and “tuned” to precision for your demographic and market.
You can’t afford to lose a potential and fitting customer.
At w3developing, we specialize in creating out of the box award winning designs that communicate YOUR message.
There really is no point to have a web site unless it is producing something for you – whether it be income or new visitors, your site does have an end product. And we can help you define and implement that.

Jason at his desk in 2005
I speak with a lot of company owners. They tell me about their web site and what they would like to achieve. And this is normal and always interesting.
There are a few things common to a web site that are often overlooked. And not accounted for in the long term viability.
First off, technology is always advancing. This is known. And the pace at which it moves is quite extraordinary. Very often a site will be developed and within one year be nearly outdated in function and design. This leads to the simple conclusion that a web site is an ongoing maintenance project. There is no way around this. It needs to be constantly kept up and advanced.
This is particularly true if you have fierce competition and are constantly at “battle” for the most interactive and enlightening site – obviously to attract the most visitors – and keep them coming back!
If you are serious about your online business, be prepared for a constant investment of time and money. Don’t cut corners on design or development. It’s just not worth it in the end.
Just like any industry, you typically get what you pay for. And don’t expect your web site to be an overnight miracle or success. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty and hit the grindstone!
The fruits and benefits of online business are next to none. The ease of management and n0-location dependencies are business factors of the 21st century.
If you have an existing web site or have a new idea to bring to the web, feel free to contact me for a free consultation and estimate.
Thanks for reading in and look forward to a lot more short articles like these.

Back Flip Folded Open
I’m all about being connected and secure.
With the Motorola Back Flip, integrating Google Voice was a breeze. Since the Back Flip is an Android based phone (Googles OS), why shouldn’t it be?
I’m all up and running now, and some of the cool Google Voice features include:
1.) Totally FREE
2.) Simultaneously ring unlimited phones.
3.) Call any number with the Google number, and have callers call your Google number w/out giving out your cell number (secure or what?).
4.) Select from thousands of Google Voice numbers – all with your area code.
The list goes on, but Id have to say. Sorry Iphone. You’re down for the count on this one too. That’s two strikes!

BackFlip Front View - Open w/ Google Mail
I felt slightly “forced” to write this article.
Many have asked: “Why did you choose the Motorola BackFlip over the Iphone?”
I spend the majority of my time working in the Google Apps environment. My life is somewhat molded around that framework and system.
I wanted a phone that was compatible from the get go. I want my Google Mail, Google Talk, Google Calendar, etc, etc… All synced up in a few clicks. And that’s exactly what the BackFlip delivered.
